In most 4X games, the culture you choose at the start is fairly determinative: if you commenc as the Persians, you end the game as the Persians. Bountifulness's upcoming Humankind is doing absent with that model of game culture: as you pass across historical eras, you'll be able to choose a new cultivation to build on the foundations laid by the ones that came before.
